A wide range of athletes, from beginners to former Olympic swimmers, take part and enjoy the competition according to their own goals. There are four styles: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. There are also individual medleys and relays where athletes swim all four swimming styles in a set order.

Diving

Diving

With springboard, platform, and synchronized diving, athletes have their performances rated for their accuracy, mid-air motions, and entry into the water. It only takes less than 2 seconds from jumping to hitting the water, but the skills they showcase in that small amount of time will determine their scores.

Open Water Swimming

Open Water Swimming

Unlike swimming competitions in the pool, open water swimming competitions take place over long distances in natural bodies of water such as the open ocean, rivers and lakes. Also called water marathons, the competition distance is 3 km, and because they are affected by the natural conditions, it is a gruelling discipline that requires knowledge and experience as well as technique.

Water Polo

Water Polo

2 teams made up of 7 players (including 1 goalkeeper) compete in a pool court to put the ball in the opponent's goal, the winning team being the one that scores the most points. Popular for its aggressive play, it is also known as "water martial arts" due to its intensity. It is worth watching for the awesome goals, and dynamic movements of the players above and in the water.

Artistic Swimming

Athletes will showcase various movements to music, Their breath-taking performances are judged on beauty and technique. There are two types of routines, technical and free, in which athletes perform eight predetermined elements for technical routines, and perform creatively with their own choreography for free routines.
