Fukuoka Championships’ PR activities underway at swimming workshops! — Fukuoka Municipal Chuo Shimin Pool
The Organising Committee of the 19th FINA World Championships 2021 Fukuoka has been promoting the international aquatic competition by attending many swimming workshops held in Fukuoka City, including the two most recent ones that took place earlier this month.
On Monday, 5 August, a workshop for children aged from three to six and their elementary school age siblings who are not good at swimming took place at the Fukuoka Municipal Chuo Shimin Pool (a municipal-run swimming pool in Fukuoka City’s Chuo Ward). Most of the children looked scared of getting in the pool first, but it was impressive to see them enjoying their time playing in the water at the end of the workshop.
There was a breaststroke workshop also held at the Chuo-ward pool on Monday, 19 August, with nine elementary school students taking part in. When asked whether they like going to swimming pools, they all raised their hands to say “Yes!” It was Day 1 of the workshop, where the instructor taught them how to use kickboards and move their feet to swim breaststroke.
We handed goods of Sealight and Shirney, the official mascots of the 2021 World Championships, to the children who participated in the swimming workshops. The Organising Committee of the Championships is planning to attend more swimming workshops to further promote the competition coming up in two years.
